In 1921, Coco Chanel launched the perfume "Chanel No. 5", a classic fragrance that quickly became popular and which in recent years has become a symbol of elegance and femininity. The fragrance became popular among a new generation in 1953 when the film star Marilyn Monroe went out with that she wore "two drops of Chanel No. 5". Today it is one of the world's most well known perfumes. In 1970, Chanel No. 19 was launched, a sister perfume to No. 5 whose name is based on Coco Chanel's birthday August 19, and is dedicated to the brand's founders. Les Exclusifs de Chanel 1932 is a collection of perfumes that was first created in 1922 and which today is sold in a modernized form. The title of the collection is a hint to the year 1932 when Coco Chanel created its first exclusive jewellery collection. Since its first perfume, Chanel has launched over 100 different fragrances, each with unique qualities but a common connoisseur in the elegance that the brand has become known for.
